Afrim Spahiu
Born in Debar, FYROM, on May 3rd 1951. After finishing high school in his hometown, he studied in the class of professor Nikola Tanhofer, in 1975, at the Academy for Theatre, Film and Television in the University of Zagreb. In 2007 he got the degree Master of Arts at the Zagreb University. During ‘70s, ‘80s and early ‘90s, worked as a cinematographer and director of photography at RTP (Radio Television of Pristina), and KosovaFilm. From 1981-1983 he worked as an external associate at the Faculty of Arts – Pristina, as lecturer of Photography in Design Department. He was a member and president of many professional juries in the field of film and visual arts during 1981- 200. Afrim Spahiu worked as photographer – designer and manager of many artistic and commercial projects, from 1990 -2002. During the period 2000 -2002, he worked as lecturer of Photojournalism in “Faik Konica“ journalism school. From 2002-2005 he worked as lecturer and manager of the Institute of Film and Photography, “Gjon Mili” – Pristina. From 2007–2009 he is a lecturer on Analog -Digital Photography and Movie – Television Photography at the University AAB, Tetovo State University, and University Evolution in Pristina. From October 2009 he works as a lecturer on the Analog -Digital – Still Photography and Movie – Television Photography in H.P.S. Evolution-Pristina; Faculty of Arts – Pristina; International Balkan University – FYROM. He worked as director of photography in many feature films and documentaries, a number of which were awarded in international festivals. He participated in many individual and collective exhibitions. He is the author of many monographies. He was awarded a number of international prizes in photography. Mr. Spahiu is trainer of Photography in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Albin Xharra
Since 2000, he works as an audio/video editor with Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK). He is proficient in using editing techniques such as digitizing and editing in AVID, Final CUT PRO, Adobe PREMIERE, Sony VEGAS, and other editing systems. He has excellent expertise with post-production tools such as color correction in different modes, typography manipulation and also all other great features of Photoshop in creating images for TV. A final year student of TV and Film Directing, at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina. He worked with many local film and TV directors, and was awarded a certificate from SONY Training Europe and T-Media, for high interest in TV work environment. Ardian Arifaj
Mr. Arifaj was very active in journalism in the period between spring 1997 and autumn 2003. He was part of a team that established the daily newspaper ‘Koha Ditore’. Following the experience in journalism, he became an analyst with the International Crisis Group (ICG), and a political adviser at the United Nation’s Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), and then International Civilian Office (ICO). Currently he is an analyst/researcher with the Foreign Policy Club in Pristina. He continues to be linked with journalism as a member of the Kosovo Media Institute. He studied Philosophy and Sociology at the Unversity of Pristina, and was awarded a Master of Science (MSc) in European Studies, by the London School of Economics (LSE), in UK. He is fluent in Albanian, English and Serbian. He lives in Pristina with his wife and daughter. Mr. Arifaj is trainer of ethics in journalism and investigative journalism in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Fatmir Bajrami
Born in Pristina, in 1949. He completed elementary and high school in Pristina, while he studied in Paris, in CLCF (Coservatoir Libre du Cinema Francais), 1971 -1974. He worked at Radio Television of Pristina (RTP) from its establishing in 1974, until the day it was shut down, in 1990. During the period 1990 – 1999, he worked for several world TV stations, as a reporter from Kosovo, such as: CNN, ZDF, ARD, France 2, and also for local and international production companies. As of September, 1999, he started working at Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) as a cameraman, and then as head of department, where he trained many young cameramen. Later, still at RTK, he worked as head of Television Operative Section. Currently, Mr. Bajrami is working at RTK, as a professional collaborator for audio-visual issues. Mr. Bajrami is trainer of video camera in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Ilire Zajmi
Born in Prizren, in 1971. She studied Law at the University of Pristina. She specialized in Diplomacy, at the Albanian Diplomatic Academy, Centre for Political Studies and Diplomacy. Apart from her work as a journalist, she also writes poetry, prose and translates literature from English and Italian to Albanian. She is a member of PEN Center of Kosovo. She is currently working at Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK). Ms. Zajmi is trainer of TV journalism in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Kelmend Hapçiu
Mr. Hapçiu has over twenty five years of journalistic experience as a reporter, editor and media manager. Currently he is managing director of Kosovo Media Institute. He is the founder, director/editor-in-chief of the only independent news agency in Kosovo, KosovaLive. He was reporter/columnist/editor of the first ever independent publication in Albanian in Kosovo, weekly Koha. Mr. Hapçiu served as its editor until 1997, when the weekly turned into daily. He worked as the foreign news editor/reporter of the daily Bujku, published by the original staff of daily Rilindja, which was banned by the Serb government in 1990. As a reporter he covered a wide range of issues from every day life. In the late ‘80s, focusing mainly on political issues, he served as a correspondent from the Kosovo parliament. He holds B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Pristina. Apart from his native Albanian, he is fluent in English, Serbo-Croat/Bosniak, Turkish and has passive knowledge of French. Mr. Hapçiu was involved in several translation projects from English into Albanian, among them Al Gore’s ‘The Earth in Balance’, (co-translator) and John Stuart Mill’s ‘On Liberty’. Mustafa Balje
Born in Prizren, in 1967. He has extensive experience (over 17 years) in Bosniak print and electronic media in Kosovo. He worked as editor in chief and journalist in ‘Selam’, ‘Kosovski Avaz’, and a deputy editor in chief in ‘Alem’, an independent Bosniak magazine. Since 2000 he has been working as a journalist in Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), in the Bosnian service. Mr. Balje is also committed to civil society work as representative of the Association of the Bosniaks, a coordinator of Bosniak community groups responsible for a Shadow report on the implementation of the Framework Convention for the protection of national minorities (FCNM) in Kosovo, along with the Council of Europe. In addition, he is one of the founders of the Forum of Bosniaks in Kosovo. As a prominent Bosniak civil society actor, last year he was co-opted to a Community Consultative Council which works under the auspices of the Office of the President of Kosovo. He is an author of short stories, articles and books. He is fluent in the major languages of Kosovo, as well as in English. Mr. Balje is trainer of interview techniques in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Naim Gashi
He is an economist and a journalist, working currently as en editor of the internet portal of the daily ‘Zëri’. At the same time, he is a science researcher for investment projects, with the Economic Initiative for Kosovo, based in Vienna. He has worked for nine years as a journalist, then for some time as an editor for KosovaLive news agency; for three years, he was assistent professor of International Macroeconomics at UBT University (Pristina). Has been engaged in dozens of projects, mainly in the field of economy and media. Mr. Gashi is trainer of business and economy reporting in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Ibrahim Rexhepi
Mr. Rexhepi is a journalist with 30 years of professional experience, mainly in the field of business and economic reporting. Currently he is editor of the ‘Biznis & Karriere’ supplement of the daily ‘Zëri’. He worked as an editor for economy in daily ‘Express’, editor in chief and editor for economy in daily ‘Lajm’, editor for economy in daily ‘Koha Ditore’, editor in chief of daily ‘Kosova Sot’, journalist and editor in daily ‘Bujku’, and journalist and reporter in daily ‘Rilindja’. For many years now, he is reporting to Radio Free Europe, and magazine for economy, ‘Monitor.’ Mr. Rexhepi is trainer of economic and business reporting in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Rabisha Muhaxhiri
Ms. Muhaxhiri is born in Medvedja (Serbia) in 1965. She studied law, and completed her master degree in Mass Communication. She is a journalist since 1983, in the beginning with Radio Pristina. After 1990, she worked at Radio Koha, while in 1999 she started working at Radio Television of Kosovo, where she still works today, as news editor. Ms. Muhaxhiri is trainer of TV journalism in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Sebiha Ramaxhiku
Ms. Ramaxhiku is born in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica. She started working as a journalist in 1976, in the second programme of Radio Pristina (RTP). Since then, she has been working in radio, TV, print media and reporting for news agencies. She also worked for some regional media. Since 2001 she is working in Radio Dukagjini – Pristina studio, as editor in chief in the news desk. Ms. Ramaxhiku is trainer of radio journalism in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Shaban Arifaj
Mr. Arifaj is born in Istog/Istok, 1952. He completed elementary and high school in his hometown, while he studied at the University of Pristina, Faculty of Philology, in the department of Albanian Language and Literature, and also in Journalism College ‘Faik Konica’, in Pristina. He completed his master degree at AAB University, in the department of Mass Communication, in the subject ‘The Function of Spoken Language in Radio and TV Journalism’. Mr. Arifaj started working as a journalist in 1975, beginning as a speaker, and then as a journalist, editor and editor in chief in Radio Television of Pristina (RTP), Radio Television of Albania (RTSH), and Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK). He also worked as a journalist for several newspapers, and as a correspondent for the Public Swedish Radio (section in Albanian language), Radio Zagreb (section in Albanian language), Radio Kopenhager Canalen, and was the head of the independent Radio Kosovo in Brussels. He attended many professional training on journalism, such as a BBC training, and some other training in USA and Canada. Currently he is Head of Sector for Capacity Building, at Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK). Mr. Arifaj is trainer of radio journalism in the diploma course organized by KMI. |

Zenun Çelaj
He is born in 1940, in the village of Vuthaj, in Plava, Montenegro. He studied Albanian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Pristina. Mr. Çelaj is one of the pioneers of journalism in Kosovo. He worked as a journalist in daily ‘Rilindja’ since 1960, until it was banned in 1990, when he moved to ‘Bujku’, where he worked until 1999. At the end of 1999 he was appointed editor-in-chief of the newly established daily ‘Zëri’, and then, on his will, he worked as deputy editor in chief, until 2009. Since then, he is editor in charge of the web portal ‘Koha’ (www.koha.net). He has traveled extensively all over the world, and has attended many professional journalism trainings in the ‘60s and the ‘70s. He was awarded as Best Journalist in Kosovo in 1979, and presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Kosovo Professional Journalists, in 2002.
