Pre-career diploma course
The pre-career diploma course aims to vocationally prepare beginner journalists. The course is designed to offer trainees the basic knowledge in all fields of journalism. The nature of work in the course is more practical, and less theoretical. The practical part is realized in the premises of the Kosovo Media Institute, where a TV and radio studio, a control room, video cameras and digital cameras are available. The trainers of this course are prominent editors, journalists and trainers with many years of experience in journalism or training, from Kosovo and Europe. The pre-career diploma course is three months long. The subjects which this course teaches are as follows:

For the trainees who successfully complete the course, and are awarded a diploma, KMI will mediate in finding them an internship in one of the media members of the KMI, in the field of journalism preferred by the trainee
PRE-CAREER DIPLOMA COURSE 2011
The next pre-career diploma course will be held in February 2011. The announcement for the course will be published in KMI homepage, and in the media
criteria and rules of application
- The candidate should be a student or a graduate, below the age of 30
- The candidate will enter a written test which is a precondition for the interview
-The candidate who passes the test, will be interviewed by the KMI commission for admission of trainees
-English language proficiency will be considered as an asset

-The fee for the course is 50 euro for the complete course (three months). The payment is requested ahead of the course, and in agreement with the administration of KMI
